The Minister of Interior meets the Iraqi ambassador in Amman

The Minister of Interior, Salama Hammad, discussed, today, Sunday, in his meeting with the Iraqi ambassador in Amman, Haider Al-Athari, the ways to enhance the prospects of bilateral cooperation between the two brotherly countries, particularly in the security and economic fields, combating terrorism and extremism, and some matters related to the Iraqi community in Amman.

The Minister of the Interior said that there are direct royal directives to the government to build bridges of effective cooperation with Iraq in all fields, especially security and economic ones, and to go to great lengths in that to achieve the interests of the two brotherly peoples.

Hammad called for the necessity to invest and build on the strong existing relations between the two countries, pointing to the importance of the Jordanian-Iraqi partnership, and the need to take the necessary measures to activate this partnership and develop it.

The Minister expressed his full readiness to overcome any obstacles or constraints that may face the Iraqispeople during their entry to the Kingdom and their residence in it according to the applicable regulations and instructions.

On his part, the Iraqi ambassador mentioned some issues related to the Iraqi community in Amman, especially those related to their residence in the Kingdom, which resulting to  the acceptance of their children in Jordanian schools.

The ambassador expressed his country's thanks for the volume of cooperation shown by Jordan and the facilities which are provided to Iraqis coming to the Kingdom and residing in it.
