“And border control.” At the end of the year 2022, the Kingdom hosted an international conference on border security with wide international participation, and a set of positive ideas were adopted that reflected positively on border control and the use of modern technology.

Al-Faraiah said that the issue of asylum is no less important than immigration, pointing out that Jordan stands by the refugees and helps them in proportion to the amount of aid provided to Jordan based on the moral and humanitarian dimension, stressing that the priority of the Jordanian government is its citizens, not the refugees, and that the original home of the refugees is their homeland, indicating that The amount of aid provided to Jordan in this regard did not meet the required level.

He said that Jordan bears its responsibilities and the continued provision of these services is directly linked to the amount of international support provided to them, indicating that the international community must shoulder its responsibilities to help Jordan host this large number of refugees, as Jordan hosts approximately one million and 350 thousand refugees, and the number of births has reached since 2011 until now. Now there are 233 thousand Syrians, which makes Jordan the largest country hosting refugees compared to the population.

He added that asylum has placed great financial burdens on the Jordanian government, especially with the weakness of international funding for the Jordanian response plan to the Syrian crisis, which has been prolonged and that the Syrian brothers are still suffering from the low level of support provided to them by donors, as the percentage of financial support within Jordan’s plan reached 5.8% of its percentage. Funding required for the first half of this year.

He referred to the study prepared by the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees and the World Bank, which revealed serious indicators, including the possibility of the re-emergence of a new humanitarian crisis for refugees, the high rate of poverty and unemployment in refugee camps and outside them, and the increase in the work of minors, which requires increasing the support provided to Jordan to enable it to continue providing these services, especially with The Kingdom is suffering from the burden of increasing economic problems.

He stated that Jordan's distinguished location between three continents provided it with many advantages along with many challenges, especially in light of the unstable conditions the region is suffering from, which placed new burdens on Jordan, as Jordan became attractive to foreign workers as a result of the security and stability it enjoys. The government has worked To prepare the strategic plan to deal with foreigners residing in the Kingdom, including immigration governance and data management in partnership with the European Union.
