The Minister of the Interior and Chairman of the Supreme Council for Traffic Safety, Mazen Al-Faraya, visited the Traffic Department, accompanied by the Director of Public Security, Major General Dr. Obaidullah Al-Maaytah, during which they were briefed on the most prominent daily efforts made to direct traffic and reduce traffic congestion, the mechanisms for monitoring traffic violations, and the awareness and community programs aimed at spreading awareness and traffic culture. .

The Minister of the Interior praised the great and exceptional efforts made by the Traffic Department staff at various times and circumstances, and the efficiency they enjoy in dealing with traffic challenges and obstacles, and their ability to deal with them in a way that maintains traffic movement and its flow, and reduces the traffic congestion that most of the main roads in the country witness. Governorates of the Kingdom as much as possible.

Pointing to their active role in enforcing the traffic law on everyone without bias, through traffic control and controlling dangerous violations, which contributed to reducing the negative effects on society and its individuals.

 Al-Faraiah pointed out the necessity of continuing to open channels of communication with the local community and informing public opinion of the latest traffic plans and strategies and how to deal with traffic problems and challenges, keeping them informed of traffic statistics and the negative effects resulting from them, and working with them to create a community traffic culture committed to the law.

For his part, the Director of Public Security emphasized moving forward with the implementation of the traffic strategy aimed at enhancing a safe traffic environment, and evaluating its plans and procedures, based on a detailed study of the traffic reality, developing the necessary solutions to alleviate congestion, and activating traffic control mechanisms to control dangerous violations that threaten the lives of road users. .

Pointing to the importance of the national traffic awareness campaign recently launched by the Public Security Directorate in spreading traffic awareness among all segments of society, establishing a safe traffic culture and conveying a clear message that violations are not our goal, but rather preventing them is what we aim to achieve.

Major General Al-Maaytah stressed the major role that must be played by various national, civil, educational, religious and community institutions, to support the efforts undertaken by traffic departments, and to carry out the roles assigned to them, each within the scope of their work and activity, to create a community culture that positively affects the traffic situation and limits negative aspects. Traffic violations that threaten the security and safety of road users.

The Minister of the Interior and the Director of Public Security listened to a briefing presented by the Director of the Traffic Department, during which he explained the plans and strategies in place, the mechanisms of traffic and supervisory work carried out by the administration’s cadres, and the efforts made to reduce traffic accidents that resulted in a decrease in the negative effects resulting from them, in addition to the awareness roles played by it. The Minister of Interior was briefed from the main operations room of the Traffic Department on the mechanisms of traffic and supervisory work and the efforts being made by all ranks of the Traffic Department to deal with traffic congestion.

He also listened to a briefing from inside the room for receiving complaints and comments via WhatsApp applications and other means of communication, and how to deal with any comments or complaints received.
