The functions and duties of the Directorate:

The organizational structure and the job description of the Ministry of Interior for the year 2006 have defined the duties of the Legal Affairs Directorate as:

• Preparing draft laws, regulations and instructions.

• Preparing agreements and treaties related to the Ministry’s business.

• Preparing allegation statements for lawsuits filed by the Ministry, and responses to lawsuits allegation statements filed against the Ministry.

• Providing legal opinions and consultations concerning cases submitted to the Directorate.

• Any additional related functions.
