The functions and duties of the Directorate:
The organizational structure and the job description of the Ministry of Interior for the year 2006 have defined the duties of the Legal Affairs Directorate as:

Preparing draft laws, regulations and instructions.

Preparing agreements and treaties related to the Ministry’s business.

Preparing allegation statements for lawsuits filed by the Ministry, and responses to lawsuits allegation statements filed against the Ministry.

Providing legal opinions and consultations concerning cases submitted to the Directorate.
