The functions and duties of the Directorate:

• Following up the security issues in coordination with the administrative units and security parties.

• Licensing weapons, private protection and security companies, and training companies.

• Licensing professions’ activities, and issuing the Ministry’s approval to professions that fall under the Ministry of Interior domain.

• Following up tribal issues, the state’s properties issues, and the state’s lands adjacent to the traditional tribal locations.

• Following up pass-ways and border crossing points.

• Following up the societies (associations) that fall under the Ministry of Interior domain.

• Following up the activities of the agencies and the civil society organizations.

• Following up public activities, gathering and marches, and the political and parliamentary affairs.

• Conducting the required studies about the work of the Directorate, and presenting suggestions related to the Directorate work and recommendations that lead to developing its performance.

• Public relations and public service.

• Any additional functions related to the work of the Directorate.
