The functions and duties of the Directorate and its Divisions:

• Reviewing the applications for granting, declining and reclaiming citizenship.

• Reviewing the applications for granting, renewal of, and addition and omission to temporary passports.

• Reviewing the applications for leave-without-return tickets, and deportation.

• Reviewing the applications for granting urgent travel-pass documents.

• Implementing the procedures related to the applications for granting and renewal of visas and residence permits to all nationalities, including the procedures related to the investors affairs applications.

• Following up granting residence permits and visas to the refugees and refugee status applicants.

• Reviewing the applications of foreigners’ ownership of fixed assets forwarded from the Department of Land and Survey.

• Conducting studies related to the work of the Directorate, data analysi, setting up the appropriate conclusions and recommendations to improve the Directorate’s performance, and periodically preparing the statistics and reports of the Directorate’s achievements.

• Any additional functions related to the work of the Directorate.
