Interior Minister meets Indonesian ambassador

Interior Minister SalamehHammad discussed with Indonesian Ambassador Andy Rahmayanto ways to strengthen cooperation between the two countries in the security and police fields as well as some issues related to the Indonesian community in the Kingdom.

The relations between the two friendly countries are old and strong, especially in the security aspect, capacity building and combating terrorism, he said, expressing the ministry's readiness to intensify cooperation programs between the two countries in addition to addressing any issues related to the Indonesian community in the Kingdom.

During the meeting, Hammad pointed out the mechanism of the ministry's work and the nature of the tasks entrusted to it through its various directorates, in addition to its security branches represented by the directorates of public security, civil defense and gendarmerie, and the duties of each department and its responsibilities, all of which contribute to providing security and safety for the homeland and the citizen and the consolidation of the pillars of stability throughout the Kingdom.

For his part, the Indonesian ambassador said that his country looks forward to closer relations with Jordan, particularly in the security, political and economic fields, increasing cooperation programs, exchanging information, visits and capacity building between the two friendly countries.

He also stressed the need to raise the level of effective coordination between the two countries to curb the spread of crime and combat extremism and terrorism
