Minister of Interior, Salama Hammad, discussed, during his meeting today, Monday, withGerman Ambassador to Amman, BirgittaSiefker-Eberle, ways to enhance bilateral cooperation between the two friendly countries, especially in the political, economic and security fields.

The Minister of the Interior said that the bilateral relations between the two friendly countries are based on mutual respect, through the support from the leaderships of the two countries, especially in the security fields that are considered the basis for the stability of the Sates seeking to achieve progress and prosperity.

Hammad pointed out the importance of sharing security experiences, training programs and organizing visits that would increase the level of cooperation and coordination to combat crime of all kinds.

Hammad reviewed the developments and challenges that the Kingdom is facing, most of which are triggered by the region's instability and its repercussions on the overall economic and security situation in the Kingdom.

He said that Jordan has faced many waves of forced refugee on its territory from several countries such as Palestine, Iraq, Lebanon, Yemen, Libya and Syria, which led to negative repercussions affecting most of its vital sectors and services. The minister also emphasizes that the Hashemite leadership believes above all of the need to provide humanitarian assistance to those who need it.

Moreover, he praised Germany's support to Jordan in the fields of humanitarian work, security and development, pointing to the importance of continuing assistance to help the Kingdom deal with the repercussions of the refugee crisis.

For her part, the German ambassador pointed to the need to open wider fields of cooperation between the two countries, especially those related to providing the assistance that the Ministry of the Interior needs in its work and sharing security experiences and training programs.
