The Minister of Interior meets the Secretary-General of the Council of Arab Interior Ministers

Interior Minister Mazen Al-Faraya discussed, during his meeting today, Tuesday, the Secretary-General of the Council of Arab Interior Ministers, Dr. Muhammad bin Ali Koman, aspects of joint Arab security cooperation and ways to raise it to the highest levels.

The meeting dealt with the topics on the agenda of the Euro-Arab Border Security Conference scheduled to be held under the auspices of the Prime Minister tomorrow, Wednesday, and hosted by the Public Security Directorate in coordination with the General Secretariat of the Council of Arab Interior Ministers and the European Agency for Border and Coast Guard (Frontex), in implementation of the recommendations of the 43rd Conference of Arab Police and Security Leaders.

The Minister of Interior stressed the importance of holding the two-day conference, as it constitutes a prominent event as the first Arab-European security meeting to discuss vital issues and common challenges in the field of border security. It also confirms the strength of the distinguished relations that link Jordan with all Arab and foreign countries.

On the other hand, the Minister expressed his satisfaction with the efforts made by the Council of Arab Interior Ministers to achieve the desired Arab security cooperation among all its members, and the qualitative achievements it has achieved in terms of combating crime in general, stressing Jordan's keenness to implement the Council's decisions and recommendations and to provide all forms of support and assistance to the Council's General Secretariat and its various activities.

In turn, the Secretary-General of the Council expressed his thanks and appreciation for holding the conference in Jordan as a land for dialogue and convergence among civilizations, in addition to the climate of security and stability, praising the active and distinguished role of Jordan in the Council of Arab

Interior Ministers and its keenness to support and develop its work mechanisms and its various organs, especially the Arab Office for Arab Affairs Drugs and crime.

The meeting was attended by the Director of the Arab Office for Narcotics Affairs, Colonel Muhammad Rawashdeh.
